BTCCSquare news:

Iran is fast-tracking cryptocurrency adoption for international trade settlements with BRICS nations as Western sanctions intensify. Parliamentary Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf declared digital currencies a necessity—not an option—during Iran's inaugural government-backed blockchain conference. "Settling international transactions in digital currencies isn’t optional for us—it’s required," he stated, framing blockchain adoption as critical for economic survival.

The urgency follows August 2025 snapback sanctions by France, the UK, and Germany. Tehran now actively courts foreign investment in its digital currency sector while collaborating with BRICS partners on crypto-based workarounds. Parliament has committed to partnerships with academia and businesses to bolster infrastructure.
